May 16th - Seniors turn in laptops
May 20th - Seniors can begin picking up laptops
June 14th - Last day for seniors to pick up laptops.
Senior laptops can be picked up in room 1206 which is the Technology Department.
Seniors who have successfully completed their program here at Ohio Hi-Point and are eligible to convocate will receive their laptop for FREE.
NOTE: Everyone MUST turn in their laptop. Even though it is yours to keep for free, certain software MUST be removed by us prior to you keeping it.
When is laptop collection?
Seniors may start turning in their laptops once they have finished all exams and are certain it will not be needed for class. Once turned in, you cannot get it back until it has been reset.
We will collect all remaining laptops on Thursday, May16th.
We will contact your lab instructor to schedule a time for this. If you are not here on that date it is your responsibility to get the laptop to us at least the day before if you know you will be absent on collection day, or the day after if you are unexpectedly absent.
Laptops collected first are imaged can be picked up first!
First in, first out! Laptops turned in late may not be ready for pickup until after convocation.

What will you do to my laptop when you collect it?
When you turn in the laptop we image it back to factory settings. You will no longer have access to any of your files, music, or movies that you have not previously saved to Google Drive or your own personal devices or disks.
What do I need to turn in?
We only collect the laptop. We do not collect bags or power cords.
What if I can't find my power cord?
A limited number of used replacement power cords are available for sale for $25
What happens to my Google Drive and email?
You will have access to your Google Drive and OHP Gmail until July 1, 2025. On July 1st we will be removing your OHP Google accounts which will remove all access to your files and email. Please make sure you copy any important files you wish to keep and change your email address with important contacts before July 1st. You have or will receive instructions on how to do this.
Why do you have to "wipe out" my laptop?
We are required to, by our software licensing agreements. Schools that do not follow their software licensing agreements could face fines in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. We have to remove certain programs from your laptop because ownership of the laptop is being transferred from us to you.
What programs will be on my laptop once it's "wiped"?
You will have the standard programs that ship with a Windows laptop. You will NOT have Microsoft Office.
How do I back up my files?
You will need to save your files to your Google Drive, to a USB drive, or a portable hard drive.. It is up to you to do this, but we will give you instructions if you need them. Follow this link for Google Takeout instructions.
Will you help me back up my files?
Yes! We are happy to help you in any way we can, but NOT on Laptop Collection Days! If you want help from us you MUST see us BEFORE the day we collect your laptop.
Where do I go for technical support after I purchase the laptop?
OHP offers no technical assistance once the laptop is no longer owned by us.
If you do not pick up the laptops by June 14, 2025 you will forfeit the right to your laptop. And you will no longer be eligible to receive a Free laptop.
